The lights in the concert hall dimmed, and Grant could hear the smoke machines behind the velvet curtain begin to whir. He started making his way towards the front of the stage, ready for the show of his life. As a thick smoke covered the crowd and obscured the stage, he could hear piercing feedback begin to spill out of the stacks of speakers on the sides of the stage, signaling that Blood Lust was on their way to the stage. Excitement builds as the band takes stage, as the crowd begins to sway to the acoustic guitar playing over the speakers. As the tempo quickly increases, so does the ferocity of the crowd. Grant blindly pushes through the thick crowd in the sold out venue, trying to take this opportunity to get a better view. The stage is completely blotted out by smoke, and only wisps of the thick red velvet curtain are visible. As the into fades seamlessly into the opening notes to “Fallen Sanity”, he sees the curtain quickly rise to the ceiling, revealing a massive blood red pentagram with Jesus crucified in the middle, dripping an ooze from all 5 points. The crowd begins to spread apart and slam into each other, with circle pits forming all over the venue. Grant takes notice of the closest safe spot and tries forcing his way through the crowd of smoky shadows.

Suddenly, Grant feels something strike the back of his neck, and quickly grab his shirt. The flashing strobe lights disorient him, making it unable to see who is assaulting and grabbing him and throwing him around. He feels his unknown attacker release him and he takes a deep breath, confused about why he doesn't feel anyone around him, until he feels someone slam in to his side, tearing his shirt and leaving deep gashes in his side. Feeling like a truck hit him, he swings his head to catch a glimpse of his assailant, and sees a giant of a man over 6 and a half feet tall wearing leather bands covering his forearms with what looked to be silver spikes lining the sides, with his blood dripping down the ones that tore his skin. While he's staring at the behemoth that just knocked the wind out of him, he gets hit from his right side, throwing him to the floor. Trying to avoid being stomped, he rolls as far as he can and manages to get to his feet just in time to catch an errant fist to his nose, shattering it on impact.

Grant's vision goes white and he begins to black out. He feels himself being pushed around again, and finds that he's heading towards the doors on the side of the venue that let out to the alley. He accepts where he is heading and slams into the door and hears a crunch as the first 2 fingers on his left hand snap when the push bar on the door doesn't open. He slams his good side into the door and stumbles into the dimly lit, dank alley. He looks up to see the light bouncing off the walls as the doors shut, sealing his fate to walk down the shadow lined alley. As he stumbles down the alley he catches his own reflection in a stagnant puddle and sees enough blood cascading down his face to put the scent of copper in the air. His clothes are ruined and he begins to feel woozy when he realizes how much blood he is still losing.

Grant begins to vomit, destroying the image of himself in the puddle of filth between the curb and cobbled street. Between violent heaves, he sees shadows dance against the wall and a scratching sound, like something sharp is being dragged along the wall. His mind flashes back to being a young child, watching Nightmare on Elm Street, seeing Freddy Krueger walk down a hallway of the boiler room with arms stretched, blades sparking against the rusted walls. He snaps back to reality and sees the trail of blood he's been leaving in the alley.

An unholy screech fills the sky as he sees a giant shadow swallow up his own and he tries to run. As he realizes he can't run due to how much pain he's still in from the spikes that pierced his side, he falls to the ground, bouncing off the curb and coming to rest on his back. He looks up to the sky and sees an ominous shape gliding towards him, illuminated by the moon like a real life caped villain. He feels the creature descend upon him and land alongside him..
Grant begins to scream as he feels the flesh on his neck being shredded by claws and fangs. He can feel himself getting weaker as the creature drains his blood for it's meal. He flashes back to before he left his apartment that morning, promising his fiancée that he'd be careful and that he wouldn't get too beat up tonight. He flashes further back, remembering news reports talking about police finding horribly mutilated bodies in dark and out of the way spots all over the city, drained of their blood. All track of time is lost as memories fade in and out, flashing Grant's life before his eyes.

Grant hears the doors to the venue open again as the crowd begins to spill out of the venue as the creature seems to have had taken it's fill. He could swear he heard a voice utter the words “In Death, you will find life”, as the creature takes off above the buildings. As his body begins to shut down he can hear the people from the concert screaming, some for help, some because of the gristly blood filled scene laying in front of them. His last conscious memory is a feeling of warmth emanating from within the center of his soul as his vision faded to black and he felt his last breath leave his lungs.
